Our story
Rooted in comfort, rooted in Coventry
Shajar is the Arabic word for tree. It is the name we chose for a small home brand built around warmth, care and the simple pleasure of a good throw.
The name
Why a tree?
A tree is rooted, sheltering and quietly generous. It gathers people beneath it and asks for nothing in return.
That is the feeling we want to bring into your home: the throw you reach for on the first cold evening, the one that ends up in every photo on the sofa, the one you buy twice so someone you love can have one too.
A family business
Wrapped by hand, at home in Coventry
Shajar Home is run by one family. Every order is checked, folded, wrapped in ivory tissue and sealed with our gold tree mark in Coventry, then handed to Royal Mail.
We are small on purpose. It means we look at every throw before it leaves us, answer every email ourselves, and handwrite the note when you are sending a gift.
Our quality promise
Four things we will always do
I
Honest materials
We tell you exactly what every piece is made of. Our cotton throws are woven from 100% recycled cotton, and our plush throws are 100% polyester, chosen for their softness and easy care.
II
Checked by hand
Every throw is unfolded and looked over before it is wrapped. If it isn't right, it doesn't leave us.
III
Gift-ready, always
Tissue, gold seal and a card in every parcel, with a free handwritten note whenever you need one. No prices inside, ever.
IV
Looked after
30-day returns on unused items, tracked delivery on every order, and a real person on the other end of every email.
Where our throws come from
Considered sourcing, honest answers
Our throws are made for us by specialist textile makers in India and China, chosen for the quality of their weaves and finishes. We'll always be clear about where each piece comes from.
The Hazel, The Rowan and The Birch are woven from 100% recycled cotton, giving cotton fibres a second life.
Thank you for being here
Whether you are buying for your own sofa or for someone you love, thank you for choosing a small family business.
